The Warrior, the Wolf, and the Witches
The Warrior, the Wolf, and the Witches is a play being performed in the Auchendale Mummer’s Theater.
The plot involves three evil witches plotting to kill the most powerful and clever Warrior in the kingdom. One witch attempts to poison The Warrior by feeding him sweets laced with nightshade, but she fails because a true gentleman warrior refuses the temptation extravagant foods. The next witch attempts to kill The Warrior by seducing him and giving him a disease, but she fails because a true gentleman warrior refuses the temptation of loose women. The final, most powerful witch summons a monstrous Wolf-man to kill him. After The Warrior beats the wolf hand-to-hand in single combat, he convinces the Wolf to lead him to the Witches’ lair in exchange for the wolf’s life. After slaughtering the first two witches, he captures the final witch and has the wolf man devour her alive in front of the king’s court. The king is so impressed by the warrior’s resolve, he gifts the warrior his youngest and most fair daughter. The two are wed at once, and everyone lives happily ever after.
